  I won’t stop blogging that’s for sure - but starting from today, all the articles on this blog will be written in English. The last 2 years I’ve mainly been writing in Dutch; that’s about 376 blog posts - or almost 1 post every two days.

  This decision doesn’t come suddenly, I’ve been playing with the idea quite a long time…

  Three reasons why I will be blogging in English:

  1. Some of my readers know I recently switched jobs, whenever I’m blogging on our company blog I feel myself more comfortable writing in English. It gives me the ability to put more depth and feeling in some of my articles. Besides that, I will be crossposting some articles every now and then.
  2. 99% of the blogs I follow and articles I read are written in English - that’s not a bad thing, but since I do like to quote and share insights based upon other people’s articles: why not do it in English instead of dutch?
  3. One of the most important reasons: I’d really like to reach new (and more!) people with this blog - share my experiences, insights, my approaches & solutions - to me it’s like making friends in a new town.

  Yes - there will be spelling mistakes & grammatically incorrect sentences, I consider this a good exercise and feedback is always welcome.

  PS: For now, the dutch articles will remain available.

  Sketch paper for the mobile designer

  Since we‘re all big fans of the iPhone and the mobile future in general, we want to help the mobile designer achieving his goals. For those who like to sketch the design/flow of their mobile app or website we present you: sketch paper for the iPhone and Nokia N95.

  Besides our interest in the mobile future, we saw what the people at Culturedcode where doing and, I asked myself - “Why aren’t here any sketch papers for e.g. the iPhone?”. Since its a simple thing to do I fired up illustrator and started.

  It might be useful when you are brainstorming or trying to find the perfect flow for your app or website.

  Evenwicht

  Lezen vs Doen - een balans die sinds kort niet meer in evenwicht is. Een dagelijkse stroom aan relevante artikelen zorgt ervoor dat ik heel veel lees, maar plots ook veel minder zaken omzet in praktijk, net van dat laatste geniet ik vaak het meeste. Langs de andere kant: een ijzersterk artikel laat ik niet graag links liggen, wat ervoor zorgt dat je automatisch het echte werk naar achteren duwt.

  Ik zou kunnen kuisen in mijn feeds, maar het web blijft een speeltuin vol bijzonderheden. Ik zou strikter kunnen omspringen met de onderwerpen die ik lees, maar ik heb het gevoel dat mijn huidige selectie al strak genoeg is. Ik ben ook geen voorstander van één grote map te maken waar al mijn “nog te lezen” artikelen in worden verzameld - zoiets wordt al snel een vuilnismand.

  Als ik luidop nadenk: misschien moet ik maar bv. 1 uur per dag voorbehouden voor sterke content? (ik spreek bewust over content en niet enkel tekst). Misschien moet ik gewoon maar meer dingen voorbij laten gaan en mij terug volledig storten op creatie. Niets zo mooi dan dat!

  Ooo, het is zo moeilijk om iets niet te lezen en foert te zeggen - terwijl ik dat soms beter wel zou doen. Prioriteiten stellen, ik ben daar nooit goed in geweest.

  Ben ik hier de enige?
